Before starting his legal internship,  he was an intern at an NGO affiliated with the United Nations, and various law firms operating in Turkey, working on projects regarding Mergers and Acquisitions, Contracts Law, Corporate Law, Tax Law and Employment Law.

During his law education, Özer attended symposiums, especially on Arbitration Law, Maritime Law and European Union Law, and took part in the organization of the Arbitration Symposium. He is a member of ELSA (European Law Students Association). He attended to additional trainings in Information Technology Law and Tax Law.

He is a member of the Istanbul Bar Association.

He has excellent command of English and intermediate level of French.
