From the liberalization of the Turkish communications market to the introduction of new communication technologies such as M2M, IPTV, 4G services Att. Dr. Cigdem Ayozger Ongun took an active part in the drafting of the laws of telecommunications and in the preparation of licensing and regulating the market analysis regulations. In the meanwhile, she has been coordinating with the leading communication companies in Turkey, regarding the compliance issues of the companies to the upcoming regulations, as well as applying and gaining the required licenses and permits relevant to companies’ business.

She has also negotiated on the major telecommunications transactions with the related public authorities. She has represented clients in policy and adjudicatory proceedings before regulators and governmental organizations. She has developed particular expertise in the drafting of legislative and regulatory frameworks to facilitate sector restructuring, liberalization and privatization.

She assists in preparation for the regulatory changes, manages clients’ relationships with the regulators, and where possible, also supports the clients to achieve the related regulatory changes by rendering clarification. She runs licensing processes, as well as business strategies in the light of regulatory requirements and the practices of regulatory authorities.
